I am a Film major. I was born in China and
have been living in the U.S. for more than 11 years. When I was younger, I
would often pay more attentions to how actors act in films or in TV-shows more than
the storylines themselves. Besides studying on actors, I would also pay
attention to the camera movements, the editing, and how the show is filmed.
Soon enough, that became a habit. So, I thought I should try to make some
videos on my own.
I have made a few videos with my friends
for other friends’ birthdays and I thought it was the best experiences. I’ve
never imagine it would be so difficult, yet very fun, to produce a video to
make someone feel happy or entertained. I like the process of creating a short
video (except coming up with a story – because it too hard). That is why I’ve
decided to major in Film; to learn more about filmmaking.
I would want to create films that have
comedy, suspense, action, and especially very good plot twists. Plots that
makes the audience think a lot even after they have finished watching. Some
films that caught my interests would be Shutter
Island, Fight Club, and The Prestige. I really liked how I end up re-thinking about the
whole movie after learning the truth when they reveal it in the movie. Even
though I like these kind of films, and would want to create such films, I am
also interested in creating music videos. Every time I listen to music, images
and scenes would pop in my head and I would love to put those into life.
